Vancouver’s VATA Brasil™ fashion label has set its sights on Asian markets for its Brasilian inspired active wear by signing an Exclusive Master Distribution agreement covering South Korea, Japan and Taiwan with Ecoterra Co. Ltd. in conjunction with R-Pack Inc. with offices in Seoul, Korea.
The new partnership is an important step towards seeing VATA Brasil’s 2009 lines in stores and on fit, health conscious women in Asia.
“We’ve long been interested in reaching out to the Asian Market, and more recently, we’ve received expressions of interest from fitness centres, spas, yoga studios, department stores and sporting goods stores in Korea, Japan and Taiwan,” said Daniel Langevin, Chief Operating Officer, VATA Brasil. “Working with Ecoterra and RPACK gives us both business and cultural expertise in those markets while working with a company who understands sales and distribution internationally.
Asia’s robust, growing economy and increasingly Westernized and fitness/active philosophy makes business both possible and very attractive for new and exciting labels like VATA Brasil™ says Mr. June Kwon, President and CEO of Ecoterra Ltd.. Our company goals revolve around having VATA Brasil™ and LP studio line by VATA Brasil™ apparel carried in progressive department stores and specialty retailers that cater to vibrant and athletic shoppers. Our intention is also to investigate the franchising of VATA Brasil™ retail stores throughout Korea and Japan.
VATA Brasil is a unique line of active wear infused with Brasilian style and flair. Designed in Vancouver by a Brasilian designer and athlete and manufactured in Rio de Janeiro, VATA Brasil combines comfortable, long-lasting OneFit™ stretch fabric with bold colours and sexy, cutting edge design.
VATA Brasil's designs have been recognized by organizations locally, nationally, and internationally. VATA Brasil operates showrooms in Vancouver and now Seoul Korea. VATA Brasil is also represented in the USA, Mexico, UAE, Iran, Japan, Taiwan, The Caribbean, Alberta and Quebec, is the official athletics supplier to both the CFL's Toronto Argonauts and Edmonton Eskimos cheerleading team and was recognized at Munich’s ISPO BrandNew Awards in 2007.
